Hemp Stems for the Trade

Cut fan leaf foliage and flowering stems, grown in the Petaluma Gap. Delivery and pick-up across the Greater Bay Area, to a small number of floral artists.

The season is short, the cut list is finite, and we are looking to align with select partners. Get your inquiries in before the 2027 season.

Rows of hemp at the edge of a field in early morning light, with a eucalyptus windbreak behind

Hemp is a beautiful flower like any other, and it deserves its place in natural design and floral work. From a home table to the stage, this beloved plant is always a statement piece.

We grow ours as a cut crop. The stems are selected in the field for form, cut at the appropriate stage, and handled with care from the moment they come off the plant. What arrives is foliage you can build on: architectural, matte, deeply serrated, with a recognizable silhouette no other green has. The flowering cuts have a second life on top of that — they dry well, extending arrangement life well past the day.

Our farm lies on sixty acres in Sonoma Valley’s Petaluma Gap appellation. Sungrown, in living soil, under coastal fog. We are CCOF certified organic and Sun + Earth certified.

Four ways to work with the crop

Foliage for structure, small flowering stems for body and large flowering stems for impact — all three sold by the stem, in varying lengths, from whatever the field is giving that week. And for events and larger activations, the whole plant.

Fan Leaf Foliage

Leafed stems, cut for structure

Nobody needs to be told what this leaf is. The seven-point star is the most recognizable leaf there is, and anyone who loves the plant will read it across a room. That recognition is the point of it, and it arrives paired with real architecture in the same stem — a rare combination in greenery. Deep green, matte, palmate, on a long clean stem, with a silhouette that holds its shape in an installation.

It behaves like a woody green on the bench. Build it in early as structure rather than dropping it in as filler and a single stem will set the register of the whole piece. Cut in the morning and delivered the same day — you are arranging a leaf that was still on the plant at breakfast.

Field Cut

Flowering lateral stems, for body and texture

The branches that come off the main stem, carrying their own flowers — several small to mid-sized along the length, with leaf between. Where Reserve Cut gives you one line, Field Cut gives you volume: the mid-layer that fills a piece and holds its density as it opens.

Resinous, aromatic, with a dusty green-gold cast that sits beautifully against anything warm. The workhorse of the three.

Reserve Cut

The terminal stem, selected single

The apical cola — the spire at the top of the plant, where the flower runs dense and tapers to a point. Selected in the field, graded one stem at a time, and cut and delivered the same day. A small share of any crop qualifies.

This is a focal flower. It carries weight and silhouette the way a garden rose or a stem of delphinium does, and it will be the thing people walk over to look at.

Whole Plants

The standing plant, for events and activations

For scale that cut stems cannot reach. A whole plant arrives with its own architecture — full canopy, standing silhouette, a presence that holds a room or an open field. Where a Reserve Cut is a focal stem, this is a focal point.

Built for events, brand activations and large-format installations. Tell us the date, the space and what you are staging, and we will work out what the standing crop can give you.

Cut to the season, not to a catalogue

Fan Leaf Foliage runs May through October. Field Cut and Reserve Cut are typically available July through October — they are cut when the crop is ready and not before,

We build your orders in advance and deliver on a cadence that works with the season and keeps fresh stems arriving on your bench.

How we cut and condition

Plants are cut in the cool of the morning, stripped of lower growth and placed straight into water, and are cut and delivered the same day directly from the farm.

Recut on arrival at an angle, into clean water, and keep them out of direct sun. Expect up to ten days of vase life from the day they are cut.

Everything here also dries well. Hung upside down in a dark, dry room with air moving, the foliage holds color and the flowering stems hold form — which makes them useful for installation work that needs a longer arrangement life.
